Intercessory Prayer

Each week on Shabbat we have a segment in our service called “Family Time” where we share one another’s burdens, prayer requests, answered prayers, as well as our testimonies and praises!  We also have a weekly Prayer Meeting on Thursdays at 6pm where we life up all the prayer requests that are sent to us from around the world!  Even if you are not able to be at service or you live too far to be with us physically we think of you as part of our Eternal family and welcome you to share your prayer requests which we will pass on to our prayer team.  Learn more about the Principles of Intercessory Prayer here.

What does the Scriptures say?

James 5:13

Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.

Ephesians 6:18

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

It is important to note that there is a key element to the effectiveness prayer and that is our seeking to be right with God with a repentant heart and our return to “right doing” described doing what is right according to God’s word, also known as “righteousness”. James says,

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” – James 5:16

The emphasis here is on righteousness which comes from the root word “to do rightly” according to God’s instruction.  The word for instruction in Hebrew is Torah… and keeping Torah is truly the key to overcoming sin and imbuing our prayers with power that manifest healing and change as it connects us with the source of life itself!

Psalm 145:18

The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

Proverbs 28:9

If a person will not listen to Torah, even his prayer is an abomination.

Learn the Affirmative Prayer Technique…

Affirmative prayer is a form of prayer that is focused on a positive outcome rather than the current negative situation, believing and knowing that the greatest good will come about.  Affirmative prayer reflects the certainty that we are each being led to our highest good, despite any temporary appearances.  Learn more about Affirmative prayer by clicking here
